| From 'Muse Creations & Snug Knits' to 'Stoned Soul': The artsy girl who still lives on Pasatiempo Lane... Angela ( Ange/Gia K.'s) Pieces are made from wood, precious and semi-precious stone, earth eco-friendly hemp fibers, leather, precious & base metals and more. Her styles and uniqueness are popular amongst many, who often admire her ingenuity in designing pieces made from precious stones, mixed with the unexpected. Pieces are symbolic, simplistic, useful, stylish, witty and elegant. No design is impossible in Angela's/Anje eyes... Angela/Anje/Gia also knitted hats between 2002-2006, and owned the company, "Muse Creations." @ www.musecreations.com, where she was the sole knitter of hats and scarves for men and women. After having so much success, she closed the company and decided to move on to her first love and interest, 'designing jewelry', which opened up a new world for her, allowing her to freely experiment with metal smithing and various new ways of designs. Although she had a 6-8 year stint in the world of print/commercial modeling and dance, she decided that it was not for her, and grew bored with the fast-life, high-demands, stress; and enrolled into college where she obtained a triple degree in 2008, in Mass Communications and Media Arts. Although she has designed jewelry since the age of 8, and also sold and designed jewelry whilst she owned 'Muse Creations,' the two artistic passions coincided. She knew that it was her secret hidden passion. So at the close of 'Muse Creations,' two weeks later www.stonedsoul.com - Stoned Soul Urban Jewelry, the site, was introduced to her following. Angela/Gia rushed and threw the site together, did all of the photography and designed the website. Angela's pieces are inspired by natural beauty, nature, natural wonders, romance, tribal ancestry, myths, history, culture, shapes, art, love, life, experience, themes, the ocean, and lush nature of world. Many styles on the site are the product of Angela's affinity to strive for individuality and uniqueness in art and design; giving purpose, giving cause and seeking a reaction and action from each piece. These virtues are infused into each piece, and imbue strong ethnic heritage, pride, love, wonder, beauty and understanding. Angela's rich and diverse ethnic background is composed of Native America (Cherokee, Chippewa, Cree), German, French, Jewish, African American, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian, and eastern roots. Her kaleidescope mixture enables her to freely, but carefully dip into her cultural soup; combining customs, traditions, beliefs, taboos, superstitions, legends, ceremonial rites of passages, beliefs, fates, folklore, and rich history, that grants her the will and ability to construct artful beauty, mixed in with wonder, reason, cause, and purpose for her pieces. Each piece embodies the school of life, and all that comes with it... Angela/Anje also believes that if you are good to the earth, that the earth will be good to you... Gia K. (Angela/Angy) is a creative, skilled, quirky, and seasoned, but conscious jewelry design guru, who loves to design jewelry and accessories. Many call her an 'earthy eco hippie' because of her free-flowing vibes. She is also known for her sincerity, good deeds, compassion and faith. She is a giving person, who never expects anything in return, not even love at times. Gia/Angy has been designing jewelry and accessories since the age of 8 and is currently 31, but is always mistaken for a 18-year-old because of her youthful, flower-child, fun, doe-eyed, and wild hippy appearance. She's a true Aquarius, born January 26th, 1979, and to her, "ANYTHING" is possible. Anything. She first said this at age 12, while searching for a 4-leave clover in junior high and found one... She is often heard saying, "If I can't do it, then it can't be done, but if I can think of 'it', draw 'it', sketch 'it', and design 'it' in my head, then "it", whatever "IT" is, 'IS ' in fact possible and plausible." Gia/Angy also recites this mind binder aloud to friends, customers, business partners, family, people who tell her that 'it', whatever 'it' is, can't be done, and to even naysayers, friends and foe. Angy feels that creativity has no limits when it comes to life, imagination, accomplishing your dreams, reaching for the stars, and going beyond the galaxy... Anything is possible, including turning an idea into a reality, and reality into art, and making art into a purpose, making purpose into her designs. She is also a very deep, spiritual soul, who lives to explore life and to solve mysteries and enjoys the simple and uncomplicated pleasures of people, mysteries, and just living life. Her designs are filled with fun, wonderlust, wonderment, originality, care, joy, love, expression, hope, enlightenment, reality, inspiration, good karma, love, sensitivity, and beauty. Each piece is designed for a reason, whether it's to give hope, a conversation piece, donate to charity for a cause, inspiration, pay homage, remind the wearer of the real things that matter in life such as love, kindness, selflessness, patiences, forgiveness, world issues and crisis, and causes. Each piece is made to open one's senses, making them sensitive others and sensitive to the world they live in. Gia's work has also been humbly revered and adored by many people from many walks of life, professionals, athletes, celebrities, musicians and artists. Right now, she is working on establishing herself amongst her following and gaining a bigger audience as she aspires to get the message of her jewelry out to the public. Her jewelry is not made to separate classes and she does not believe that any jewelry designer should over-hike or over-price something that is made for the good, purpose or for a cause. Gia believes that if a person buys something as tiny and valueless as a plastic ring, and gives it to a sweetheart for a gift, then the person who receives the gift, places value on it according to sentiment and meaning of the moment. The idea is, "Who gave you the ring, whether it's plastic, silver, platinum, with a 4 karat diamond... & ... Why did this person give you the ring or special items that you now hold dear to your heart and is irreplaceable." What does that ring or gift mean to you? There are many people who hold onto special sentimental items such as bottle caps for luck, rubber bands, guitar strings, teeth, plastic promise rings, a lucky key, a button, a rabbit's foot, or whatever because it's significant and special to them and also because it has some story behind it. Depending on what's behind the story or as to how the person came about this items, allows one to place meaning and value on it. "Stop for a minute, look around you and observe life...Ask yourself what your mission in life or cause is... Stop and think... I know that I was not put on this earth to live a selfish life and to just breath, eat, and sleep. I must live a self-less life. Each breath that I breathe is for a reason and I know that I am to use each breath, and moment to do something good for the love of humanity and to improve the world I share with millions... I chose to design jewelry that has a cause - even if the cause is happiness or excitement from wearing or looking at one of my pieces." - Gia K./Angela Gia (Angela/Angy) is currently designing for various artists and has designed items for an array of artists, musicians, and prominent figures around the world, but has remained and is still humble from these amazing experiences and encounters.
